| Details: NEW VISION SPONSORS THE ANNUAL YOUTH CHRISTMAS BANQUET On Saturday, December 19, 2009, the youth celebrated their annual Christmas Banquet at the New Hopewell Outreach Center. It was a joyous evening filled with inspiration and much holiday cheer as we embraced Christmas carols as well as music by up and coming violinist Master Taquan Coe. A posthumous tribute was made to the Ms. Jessie Mae Smith, who was a lifelong youth advisor. The highlight of the evening was having Orlando Hudson, second baseman for the LA Dodgers and gold glove recipient as the guest speaker. Orlando, who is also an advocate for autistic children, challenged the youth to never take the easy way out; always be respectful; be the one who makes a positive difference and to use their talents to succeed. He also reminded them that no one is perfect; however, we should right our wrongs when possible and to move on with our lives when we can’t. |
